That’s why we decided to give derma rollers away to our customers (while supplies last). The derma roller aids in regenerating your skin and reducing wrinkles to give your skin a more smooth, youthful appearance.
Derma Roller
So what is a derma roller and why are we so excited to get them into your hands and onto your face? A derma roller is a device that allows you to micro-needle. According to the Indian Journal of Dermatology, and republished by the National Institutes of Health:
Microneedling is a very simple, safe, effective, and minimally invasive therapeutic technique. It was initially introduced for skin rejuvenation, however, now it is being used for a very wide range of indications including acne scar, acne, post-traumatic/burn scar, alopecia, skin rejuvenation, drug delivery, hyperhidrosis, stretch marks, and many more. Moreover, during the last 10 years, many new innovations have been made to the initial instrument, which was used for microneedling.
Microneedling is relatively new … involving superficial and controlled puncturing of the skin by rolling with miniature fine needles. Over a short period of time, it has gained mass popularity and acceptance as it is a simple, cheap, safe, and effective technique requiring minimal training. The derma roller is used to stimulate collagen production in facial scars and to rejuvenate skin. It can be used two to three times a week. After use, the roller should be cleaned in hot tap water and shaken dry.
Collagen and Derma Rollers
Derma rolling on its own induces your skin to produce more collagen and elastin. When used with our anti-aging cream, which contains the nano-technology to send collagen directly to your skin cells, the results will astound you. It is that collagen that will keep you looking young.
As you age, your collagen naturally breaks down. Dermarolling can help. When you roll the derma roller over your skin it creates very tiny holes or micro punctures. Slight bleeding may occur and it triggers your body to begin healing the wounds. This causes the skin to release chemicals and compounds that stimulate growth of new skin. These tiny punctures allow new blood vessels to form in the skin, and stimulates more collagen production over a period of about 5 days. Basically your body produces collagen to heal these micro puncture wounds. Researchers have found that in 4 months, with micro needling sessions every month, there is a 400% increase in collagen. (Source). The derma roller breaks down scar tissue, increases firmness of the skin, and reduces appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Dermarolling is as effective as other more intensive treatments such as chemical peels, laser therapy or microdermabrasion. The benefit of micro needling is recovery time and the ability to take matters into your own hands. Those other procedures can take 3-12 weeks of recovery time, whereas dermarolling usually takes between 24 and 72 hours.
At home it is important to follow the instructions provided, as well as to maintain really good hygiene. This means not sharing your dermaroller and making sure that you clean and disinfect it before and after each use. Also, make sure that you do not pick at any peeling skin.
